We are embarking on a two-year process to plan the future of Calvert County. From transportation, economic development and public safety to recreation, natural resources and housing – we want to know your vision for our future. All this will be laid out in the upcoming Comprehensive Plan update and Zoning Ordinance rewrite process. Join in the conversation and share your ideas here.

The third round of public meetings on the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan Update is being held in the winter and spring of 2017. Five workshops will be held, each focused on a different important issue. The fifth workshop focuses on strengthening economic vitality and is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus, Building A, Room 119, 115 J.W. Williams Road in Prince Frederick. Citizens are encouraged to attend, and we encourage those who want to participate to review the short issue paper, “Strengthening Economic Vitality,” which provides background information for discussion of possible strategies that could be included in the updated Calvert County Comprehensive Plan. Reviewing the issue paper may be helpful before responding to the survey questions. The paper is online at www.co.cal.md.us/FutureCalvert.
